Any OMA member organisation or their employee is eligible for nomination and can nominate a colleague; however, individuals cannot win the same award category more than once. Self-nominations and nominations for, or by, judges are not permitted.

Outstanding Service

This award recognises an individual who has delivered superior service and results for the benefit and advancement of the Outdoor industry. This exceptional and hardworking individual is highly regarded among their peers and will have made a significant contribution to the foundations of the Outdoor industry.

There are five individual state awards for Outstanding Service: one each in NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, and WA.


Rising Stars

This award recognises an individual who has portrayed qualities and capabilities that exceed expectations at an early stage of their career (have 5 years or less industry experience). They are regarded by their peers and colleagues as a consistent contributor to Outdoor and recognised as a tremendous asset to the industry’s future.

There are five individual state awards for Rising Star; one each in NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, and WA.


Excellence in Innovation

This award recognises an individual who has shown outstanding commitment to creating innovative workforce practices and sustainability efforts within the Outdoor industry. This can include the introduction of new services, methods of delivery or ways of thinking which significantly improved outcomes, efficiency, effectiveness or quality. This individual must have had a key role in the idea and or implementation of this practice.


Emerging Leader

This award recognises emerging leaders and agents of change in within the Outdoor industry. The winner of this award will have the opportunity network and enhance their understanding of the OOH industry.


Excellence in Design
and Construction

This award commends a team/company that has created special installations, immersive real-world experiences, or inventory assets that add to the public space. Their innovative approach to the design and construction pushes the boundaries of what is possible for Out of Home campaigns and elevates the channel.


Excellence in Field Work and Work Health and Safety

This award recognises an outstanding individual who has greatly contributed to Field work and Work, Health & safety (WHS). This may include developing and implementing a safety solution, system, product, program or other measures that reduce the risk of work-related injury or improves the installation and maintenance of Outdoor assets.


Hall of Fame

This award recognises an individual of legendary status within the Outdoor industry and whose achievements have inspired and motivated others. Hall of Fame inductees are regarded by their peers as industry icons, having demonstrated extraordinary leadership and made significant contributions to the industry’s success. Previous inductees to the Hall of Fame include; George Savage (2021), David Nettlefold (2021), Mike Tyquin Senior (2021), Brian Tyquin (2022), Daphne McPhee (2022), Kelvin Whitford (2022), Ian Woods (2023) and Pierce Cody (2023). A maximum of two nominees will be welcomed into the Hall of Fame each year and will be voted on by the OMA Board.

Criteria

  • Demonstrated extraordinary leadership and achievement in the Outdoor industry.

  • Made significant personal and professional contributions to the wider Outdoor industry.

  • A minimum of 20 years’ industry service and participation.
